A walk on a weekend

This last weekend my dad and I went to Haartbeespoort dam to do a competitive walk for his company. IT was pretty fun their was a great vibe in the area, and the company had just re-branded to Royal HaskoningDHV so their new posters were everywhere! They had a company tent with free drinks and snacks which was actually really awesome :) And the best part of it all was that we won! Haha it was a very fun weekend and we met some pretty cool people, including the chairman of the new company :D

Oh yeas another thing was that we got to see Jared but it was soo short. It was still awesome though!

Ramsgate holiday away

It's been a while since I last posted here...partly because I don't know what to post about partly because I kind of forgot :) A lot has happened since then including two weeks away at the beach!

In May we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stay in a house on the coast around Ramsgate. We spent two weeks there looking after one of the dumbest dogs I have met! But thanks to that dog we had a good time. In the second week my sister Carolynn and two family friends (Helen and Anette) joined us. We went from hiring a small pedal boat to going to small coffee shops to making bonfires on the beach. I must say it was a very nice time away extremely chilled and laid back.

It was Carolynn's birthday while we were there so we celebrated with a delicious Forest Cake and some PINK flags. Jared came up for it as well and he really added to the experience! Making fires with us on the beach and having his funny jokes every now and then. It is a real pleasure having such a nice older sister who is so easy to buy presents for that you kind of forget you are buying presents until you look at your bank slip :) Sisters are a real blessing...even if they can get a tad bit annoying at times but I guess we all do! I love you lots Carolynn!

As well as eating cake we went to the water park at the Wild Coast Casino. It is a terribly fun place and is run extremely well! It consists of 8 slides but can provide hours of entertainment. The best thing about it was the huge red slide which has a huge vertical drop so that when you drop down you face backwards and your stomach churns inside! It is well worth the money needed to get in!

While we were there I had a little outburst of photography...I must say I think the beach really does make photos a whole lot easier! The lighting there was pretty good almost everyday and there wasn't one miserable day. My subjects ranged from my pretty sisters to that random crab that was sunbathing. While I was at it trying to get that perfect shot of a splash I kind of got the camera splashed. Luckily it works but someone has lost the memory card and on top of that it's an xD card so it is kind of hard to replace it.

Other than that not that much exciting happened there it was extremely laid back. Everyone kind of walks around slowly and even in the town there isn't hooting and screeching and noise. It is such a peaceful little town and I would recommend it to anyone for a good holiday! I wouldn't be too quick to move there though a little too laid back.

Some photos from the holiday:

That wave that hit the camera :)

Well enjoy life and don't get it too complicated :) Daniel

I play violin and have been playing for a while (4 years). Violin is often taken as an irritating instrument but that is because most people hear kids who are below grade three and their playing is really squeaky, in my opinion there is a "hump" in grade three that you need to get over. Once you are over that it becomes a beautiful instrument and loads of fun to play!!!

First post

So today I start my blog it took a while but I have finally done it =) not sure what to post but what the heck!
